Life in wilderness has got nothing in common
with the paradise we imagine. Truth is the nature doesn't need a
human to protect from arising of certain populations. If specific
species reproduce dramatically and therefore overpopulate territories
, it is possible that some species extinct because of famine, diseases,
birds of prey, fights between the same species and canibalism. Consequently
the whole vegetation and the living beings there may be endangered,
for instance because of plague. This is one of the reasons why people
intervene in the nature. If people and animals share inhabitat ,
it must be controlled. By the overpopulation of martens in Holland
dams would fall apart, beavers in Canada would cause floods on roads
and fields, opossums would destroy woods in New Zealand. Controlled
hunting can contribute to the right balance between the inhabitat
and the number of game. Exploitation of wild animals is strictly
controlled on a national as well as on an international level. Fur
trade does not trade in endangered species.
The majority of wild species used by the fur trade are not taken
specifically for their fur but for the sake of natural balance.
All this is necessary for maintenance of adequate number of species
and for healthy ecological system, population and diseases supervision,
and at the same time for the protection of public and private areas.
International fur trade does not trade in endangered species and
fulfills the regulations of CITIES.
